Members' News for the Month of March

Hello out there!  It's the last Weds of the month, so we all know what that means, right?  Yep, it's time for the Etsy Metal members' news.  Here's an update of our comings and goings for the month of March, and our special accomplishments.

Betsy Bensen is featured in Combustus online magazine entitled "Betsy Bensen and the Alchemy of Making Jewelry".  Congrats to Betsy whose work is amazing!

Meg Auth will be exhibiting a piece entitled "X Marks the Spot" in the
Mercury Bay Art Escape
Taste of the Tour
Showcase Exhibition for the month of March
At Hot Waves Cafe in Hot Water Beach on the Coromandel in New Zealand.
This event kicks of an Open Studio Tour that takes place March 2,3,9, and 10.

Colleen Baran’s 'Blue Chain' is showing in Chain Project exhibiting at A Casa Museum in São Paulo, Brazil. 'Blue Chain' was made from layers of heavyweight paper cut into organic shapes and painted in gradient shades of blue. It explores some of her favoured recurrent themes of pattern and repetition using alternative materials.

The exhibition runs from February 20th to March 22nd in 2013. The show was curated by Marina Sheetikoff and includes 65 artists from 20 different countries.
Congrats to Colleen,  I have seen this project on Crafthaus and it is amazing!  Do check it out.

Alisa Miller was featured in American Craft Magazine in the Voices column. Her brooch was also prominently featured.

Here is a bit of text from article-

What does your living space say about you?
My apartment is a little peek into my brain. A little messy and chaotic, full of stuff I really don’t need but also surrounded by pretty things. I love my collection of art. Nearly all of it is from friends of mine or artists I have admired for a long time. I have glass and ceramics from craft show friends, drawings from artists I have followed for years, and, of course, jewelry from some of my idols.

Wow!  Lots of cool stuff from our Etsy Metal team.
Searching for "etsymetal team" (no space between etsy metal!) is one way to search for our team members when shopping or looking on Etsy.  Etsy Metal is one way of assuring that you will find quality metal work.

Til next month,
Sue
